How to do it

    Enter the coordinates

    Find the venue on a map and copy the latitude and longitude. A point at the door beats the centre of the building.

  2. 2

    Add a name and address

    Write the business name and full address so people know what they are looking at.

  3. 3

    Download and place it

    Invitations, posters, windows. On event posters, a frame reading "DIRECTIONS" lifts scan rates.

Which map opens?

The phone's default map app — Apple Maps on iPhone, usually Google Maps on Android. To force a particular app, encode that app's link with the Website type instead.

Frequently asked

Coordinates instead of an address?
Coordinates are exact. Written addresses get interpreted differently by different map apps.
Does it need internet?
A static location code opens the map offline; directions need a connection.
