Create a PDF QR code

You cannot embed a PDF in a code — a QR code carries only a few kilobytes. What actually happens is the file goes to an address and the address goes in the code. The important part is owning that address: encode a file-sharing link and every printed brochure dies the day that service changes the URL.

This code carries one of our short addresses, and that address is only reserved for you once you save.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Upload the PDF

The file is stored with us and gets a permanent address.

  2. 2

    Design the code

Choose size and colours to suit a catalogue cover, packaging or signage.

  3. 3

    Replace the file later

Upload a new version when one is ready. The printed code stays the same and scanners get the current file.

Watch the file size

On mobile data, most people give up before a 10 MB PDF opens. Export catalogues with compressed images; for very large documents consider the Catalogue or Mini page types instead.

Frequently asked

Can I replace the PDF later?
Yes, the code is dynamic. The new file is live as soon as you upload it.
What is the size limit?
It depends on your installation's setting; the default is 5 MB.
Can I see how many people opened it?
You see scan counts. We do not measure whether the file was read to the end.
